Cutting-edge, trauma-informed early interventions

Seen Heard Believed provides trauma-informed early interventions shaped from lived experience, to vulnerable and struggling families in Middlesbrough.

How do we help?

We deliver an innovative Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) approach to vulnerable families for as long as is needed.

TIP is grounded in understanding and responding to the impact of trauma; it emphasises physical, psychological, and emotional safety for everyone, to create opportunities for those affected to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their own lives.

Trauma can cause stress responses in family members with consequences that ripple through relationships and impede healthy, safe family functioning.  A common cause of trauma is domestic abuse – past or present – which can in turn become a response to something else that has happened. This can affect everyone involved, either directly or through witnessing it.  Our ‘whole family approach’ takes everything into account.

Trauma Informed Practise is grounded in understanding and responding to the impact of trauma.

Providing early intervention support in a trauma informed manner is the key to successfully engaging and working with families to promote and sustain positive change.

Seen, Heard, Believed is a project with a difference, that’s making a real difference, because the support is provided early and takes into account how trauma affects the whole family.
