Other Organisations Involved

Strong multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working is vital to identifying and responding to the needs of children and families. No single practitioner can have a full picture of a child’s needs and circumstances and as such we believe that effective sharing of information between practitioners, is essential for early identification of need to keep children safe and we would expect that organisations involved follow the same principles.

FOOT NOTE: - Level 3 Short Interventions

We can offer specific time-limited interventions for children and young people within the Social Care system where additional support for their non-attendance at school can be attributed to family/individual trauma. Our role would be to look at the reasons why the child/young person is refusing to go to school, what is behind this behaviour (what has happened to them or in the family); understanding dynamics within the family/friendships etc; provide coping strategies (survival at school); boundaries etc to manage behaviours.

We would expect to work closely with the Social Worker i.e negotiating the length of the time-limited interventions; have regular updates and be made aware of changes within the family; agree the reporting needs for the social care system.
